Maths
At Ashtree School Mathematics is taught as a ‘daily maths lesson’ and maths skills are also used in other subjects, such as Science & Computing, where this helps children to understand the practical applications of these skills. In addition, children in KS1 and KS2 will receive a ‘fluency session,’ three times per week. Through these sessions children will develop confidence and mental fluency with whole numbers, counting and place value. Pupils in EYFS receive fluency daily as part of their morning registration routine.
